48 Days to the Work You Love

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars lots of pros and one big con
Dan Miller has been very helpful to me in that he has helped to change my mindset about work. Thanks to him, I know that it’s not only possible to do something that I love for a living, but also to be paid well for it.

This whole “bad economy” thing really has a lot of people down right now, but if you look around, you’ll see there are plenty of people doing the work they love and making a good living at it. Dan Miller is a good example. Dave Ramsey is a good example.

We take a lot of things, which were once thought to be impossible, for granted today. People have landed on the Moon, the “four minute mile” has been broken several times, and we can fly around the world with ease. So why do so many people have a hard time believing that they can do something they love and enjoy for a living?

This book will help make a believer out of you!

The one “con” about this book… While it’s full of great suggestions for changing your mindset, it really doesn’t give you a specific plan for going out and making money. [...]

I feel the combination of these two books will be a big help to you. You can’t have success without a good mindset and you can’t have success without a specific plan and action. These books will make sure you have both.

3 Stars Some good information, but overall a let down from the hype
Bought this based on Dave Ramsey’s constant recommendations. The book is half work philosophy and half job hunting tips. I enjoyed the first part, but found the latter boring.

5 Stars 48 Days to the Work you love
This is a book I need at this time in my life as I have been putting off doing the work I’ve been called to do. I am to start a business but I’ve been too chicken to cut back on my time at work to get it going. After having read this book, I am determined to get started now. This book has a good section on things to do to when changing careers as well as much information on places to search for more information.

5 Stars Knowing Myself
I have both the book and CD and I am doing 2 chapters a week, mainly because of my schedule. I have only done the first 2 chapters but I have found out a great deal about myself. I have learned what not to do when I am at a job. I can’t wait to get to the next two chapters to find out more. I recommend this to anyone who wants to change theirselves and to get a job that they love and not complain.

5 Stars A word of CAUTION!!
Reading this book may be hazardous to your j-o-b!! Or at least that is what happened to me. I read it thinking that my company MAY be cutting people in the current economy. They did, but I was not one of the people cut. However, from reading the book I realized that what I was doing what not what I love to do. The book helped me (by asking the right questions) to discover what it is that I really wanted to become. I am now in the process of transitioning into growing and new business. I look forward to the day that I might be able to fire myself from my j-o-b!

Note: the book is heavy on religion, but that did not offend me.
